Now Hiring: Bus Driver (Competition #26-32)
Parkland County has a casual Bus Driver position available in the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Social Development Coordinator, this position is responsible for the safe operation of Parkland County’s Seniors’ bus in the delivery of transportation services. The role provides public transportation primarily for passengers who are sixty-five plus (65+) years of age with exceptions made to accommodate other demographics as needed (including passengers with physical and/or cognitive disabilities). This position must adjust to variable working conditions, including adverse weather, traffic & construction, passenger problems, accidents, and route changes.
The ideal candidate would have the following:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
A valid Class 4 Drivers License with the ability to provide a satisfactory Commercial Drivers Abstract. A Class 1 or 2 Drivers License in addition is preferred.
Hold a valid Standard First Aid with CPR Certification.
Previous experience in bus transportation would be considered an asset.
Possess the proven ability to deal directly and professionally with the public.
Possess exceptional customer service skills with the demonstrated ability to work patiently and compassionately with residents utilizing the ride services.
Must possess previous experience working with, providing regular care, or assisting seniors.
Current clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check must be provided prior to the extension of an offer, following the interview process.
The total rewards package for this position includes:
An hourly rate of pay of $27.26 to $30.58 with hours of work as required.

This position will be stationed at the Entwistle Community Recreation Centre and will be required to drive throughout various locations within the County.
