Parkland County has the following positions available for the 2025 Parkland County Elections:
Presiding Deputy Returning Officer (PDRO) The PDRO manages the voting station by supervising the DROs, answering questions from scrutineers, maintaining control and security of the voting station, managing the vote count, and returning the ballot box, ballots and election materials to the Returning Officer on Election Day. PDROs must be available for a full-day training session approximately the end of September or beginning of October 2025, and to work Election Day (approx. 8 am - 10 pm on Oct. 20, 2025). PDRO may be provided opportunity to work Advance Voting Station.
Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) The DRO assists voters with the voting process and assists the PDRO as required. A DRO will greet, assist, and direct voters before they register to vote. The DRO will supply the ballot and voting instructions to electors, will be responsible to ensure cleanliness of the voting station, and will assist in the counting of the ballots at the close of voting. The DRO must be available for a full day training session approximately the end of September or beginning of October 2025, and to work on Election Day (approx. 8 am to 10 pm on Oct. 20, 2025). DRO may be provided opportunity to work Advance Voting Station.
Election Worker Standby Standby workers are prepared to fill in positions of the Presiding Returning Officer (PDRO) or Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) that become vacant through to and including Election Day. The role filled by the standby worker will act as the job description for the PDRO and DRO identified in the posting. Standby workers must be available to fill positions on short notice and be available for a full-day training session approximately the end of September or beginning of October 2025. Standby workers may be provided the opportunity to work Advance Voting Station. Applications accepted to Standby Worker that are not filled to a role after Election Day closes will receive an honorarium for their commitment to the election process.

*Note: Election workers will require the ability to lift and transfer boxes weighing approximately 4-10 kilograms. Election workers will require a level of organizational and creativity skills to efficiently organize a voting station. Any required PPE will be provided by Parkland County.
Election Day is a long day, and you must be able to remain at the voting station until the end of voting. On Election Day this can mean a 12–14 hour day.
